Holds a law degree (LLB) from the Lagos State University, a bachelor of Law degree from the Nigerian Law School, advanced certification in Hospitality Management from Cornell University, New York, and graduate of the prestigious Emirate Academy of Hospitality Management with certification in kitchen and Restaurant/Hotel Management. He is a 1987 graduate of law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, and called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988 at the age of 20 and has been in full time practice since 1991. He holds a Masters degree in Law from the University of Lagos. He started his legal career in 1989 with the Civil Litigation department of the Federal Ministry of Justice. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the Capital Market Solicitors and Chartered Institute of the Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch). He is presently the managing partner of Siji Soetan & Co., a firm of legal practitioners specialising in commercial law. Over the last twenty years Mr Soetan has acquired extensive experience in litigation, arbitration, tax, and regulatory issues.
DR. LADI BADA
Non Executive Director
He is Managing Director/CEO of Shoreline Natural Resources, an indigenous E&P entity with reserves in excess of 1 billion barrels and production in excess of 50 kbbl/day. He has several years’ experience in the Nigerian oil and gas industrial sector, where he has had, and still having an illustrious career.
He worked as an adviser to Oriental Energy a Nigerian E&P production company from 2004 to 2010. In that role he worked with the Executive Chairman to farm-out and develop their three offshore assets. He was involved in the various development cycles of the Ebok Field from exploration through development and eventually to Production. While at Oriental Energy, he led teams to develop oil and gas investments in Egypt, Sudan and Saudi Arabia. He worked in Nigeria and Algeria to develop opportunities in the proposed Trans Saharan Gas Pipeline for Oriental Energy and NNPC. He is also Director in several Nigerian companies including Costain West Africa Plc, a foremost civil infrastructure company and Linetrale Petroleum.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN (July 1999); Fellow, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Full Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) and a Certified Forensic Accountant (CFA). He has worked in various high profile establishments including accounting firms like Bode Ogunleye & Co. (Chartered Accountants), and Oladega Alogba & Co. (Chartered Accountants). He was an Accountant, Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Financial Controller at Topbrass Aviation Limited; Head, Financial/Internal Control Division of Vigeo Group; General Manager, Finance of Vigilant Insurance Company Limited (now NEM Insurance Plc), Chief financial Officer Century Group. In February 2012, Seyi Katola was elected a Non-executive Director, Century Bumi Limited, a Nigerian-Malaysian company.
